Loyalton Museum 530-993-4012
Come to learn about a slice of history - life as it was lived before YOU were born.
Full scale working model of Loyalton in 1890; Victorian dresses, beautifully preserved horse-drawn carriages, an authentic counter from an old store, complete with antique weighing and packaging equipment, cash register, dentist chair and foot powered drill from 1900, a fine collection of antique hand saws used in the lumber business and related equipment. A washing machine from the 1950s. It is a marvelous place to spend a rainy day - or any day. And, the docents are so friendly, helpful and knowledgable.

Parks & recreation

Smithneck CReek County Park

This park, which is located in the Sierra Brooks neighborhood, has picnic tables, large gazebos for shade, outdoor grills and toilets. Beautiful Smithneck creek which  is a riparian habitat for many wild creatures native to this area, runs alongside the park. Maples, aspens and willows bring spectacular colors to Smithneck creek in Fall.
